Bend Me, Shape Me
This luminaire consisted of 450 acrylic tongs that rotated around an acrylic tube lit by a fluorescent lamp. The piece allowed the users to make the exhibit theirs with endless possibilities.

Production and Prototype
The smaller prototype (left) was used to explore the idea. People were instantly drawn to it, picking it up and playing with it without prompt. The lasercut tongs (right) starting to stack up!

Testing
During production I ran tests to see how best to treat the tongs. After testing, the edges of each tong were each sanded to soften the light.

Graffiti Wall
The Graffiti Wall allowed users to leave messages about their experiences in the Allied Arts building. Questions and prompts were used to draw out information from the students and staff.

Corrugated Light
This piece, by fellow student Erik Hegre, allowed users to twist the corrugated pieces around a central axis, changing the direction of light.
